Hot from the Press, Narbik’s new Bootcamp and Workbook
This is what I received in my mailbox today, I thought to share it
with you guys. Below is the email from Narbik Kocharians.
For the longest time I have been thinking of either giving it up all
together or come up with something that will capture the entire
(CCIE) world, well I decided to really go after it and I mean full
ON, here are the changes that you may find in my future boot camps
starting in 2 months, here it goes:
The boot camp work book and the advanced work book will be combined
and sold as the new version 2.0.
The boot camp workbook will have the following:
- Brand New switching section, covering intense STP, RSTP, MSTP, and all new tasks.
- Brand new frame relay labs, 100 percent of frame-relay
- Brand new RIPv2 section, this routing protocol has 30 tasks in amini mock lab style, you have NOT seen anything like it, summarization and filtering like you have never seen before.
- Brand new EIGRP, if you think you had a hard ass EIGRP section, you wait till you see this one.
- Brand new OSPF and BGP section, everything is a fair game.
- Brand new redistribution and QOS section.
- Brand new Multicast section, this new section is over 150 pages.
- Brand new IPv6 mini mock lab section
- Brand new security and IP services section
I mean you have NOT seen better, listen guys I am NOT trying to sell you
the class, you have paid already, but I am telling you, even the lectures
have changed. YOU WAIT AND SEE.
My goal is to get 80 percent passing on the first try. That is a promise.

Wow … that means if I attend Narbik’s camp in Kuala Lumpur in June 2009 I would get the new workbook. This is really cool news!

My students will receive the new Boot Camp work book FOR FREE, all they have to do is pay for the printing and shipping costs.
By the way, students that have passed their CCIE R&S through my boot camps, should retake the class at least once a year because:
1. They will keep up with the new changes and stay polished.
2. IT will cost them NOTHING.
See you in the class.

Hi Narbik, I recently (just last week) purchased your colored CCIE Advanced workbook. Would I, or could I get this new version or will there be a discount seeing how close to the initial purchase this was?

Narbik - That’s great news but here is an issue I have
“My goal is to get 80 percent passing on the first try. That is a promise.”
I got way over 80% on the lab itself but those open ended questions are interesting. Very easy but you still get zero because you didn’t type what proctor wanted you to type. I just had that experience.

I purchased the Soup-to-Nuts workbook last year, and have tried to find out if there are corrections (as there seem to be lots of typos in the edition I got) and have received no replies to the email addresses listed on the site (or the email where I received the PDFs).
Is there a discount if I want to purchase the new book before registering for the boot camp? Or alternatively, is there a way to get the latest revision of the soup-to-nuts?

LOL. And who will promise that they will grade them correctly when we do answer them?
I guess it will take 3 to tango this time haha

From what I have heard I don’t think the questions will be any problem if one is at the level of CCIE written. My advice would be to prepare to be at least at the level of doing the written.

Narbik we are endlessly awaiting your London date. Please let’s know what to expect.
March 13th, 2009 at 12:38 pm
@Lucio - You are right. I was there last week and they are EASY. Problem is that you better hope that proctor agrees with your answer because in my case they did not. I can’t break NDA but trust me even CCNPs can’t get those questions wrong
March 14th, 2009 at 10:14 am
@Narbik - Will those who recently purchased the Advanced R&S workbook be able to get the new 2.0 version?
March 15th, 2009 at 10:24 pm
If the questions were easy, and you think the proctor was biased, why not request another read?

How about the guys in a far far away country called Brazil?! It will be possible to buy just the new Workbook ?! I would love to attend the bootcamp, but it´ll be a bit difficult to do that.. :S
Thanks!

I’m interested in buying the workbook as well,
how do I proceed
March 26th, 2009 at 9:47 pm
I did the RIPv2 today, good stuff.
March 27th, 2009 at 1:42 am
What about the advanced mock labs ? Do you have a release date ?
March 27th, 2009 at 11:32 am
They should all be released in 2 months. The new Voice CCIE Foundation was released yesterday, the first class is in May, it combines 10 Voice classes in 14 days, mostly hands on. The first lab is called “out of the box” so that should tell you why CCNA is the prerequisite. The idea is to take some one from CCNA/CCNP to Voice CCIE in 6 months.
